The Story Behind the Collection

Collection inspired by Maddy Zabel, diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at the age of four.

In June of 1996, Madeline Zabel (“Maddy”) of Avon, Connecticut, was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. At the young age of four, Maddy's life and the lives of her parents, Jill and Jeff, changed forever. Juvenile or type 1 diabetes strikes children, teens and adults suddenly and requires multiple injections of insulin or constant infusion of insulin through a pump in order to stay alive. Unfortunately, insulin is not a cure…it is merely life support. Learn more.

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Your support will help make the dream of finding a cure come true.
